HARLOW DECORATIVE AND FINE ARTS SOCIETY

Member Society of The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies

The Society offers 10 lecture meetings within a subscription year but we now also hold an extra meeting in July devoted to fundraising for our Young Arts Project.

This year we held a Summer Fund Raising Supper on Thursday, 14th July 2011.

The funds raised were donated to the Society’s Young Arts Project Fund, and there was a display of the 2011 winning work produced by the children taking part in the society’s Young Arts Project from both Matching Green and Sheering Primary Schools. These were chosen from all the work provided by each class. Both schools have produced excellent work over the several years we have been supporting them.

After sitting down to a lovely two course supper, we enjoyed a very interesting lecture on “New York the Gilded Age – The Waldorf Astoria Hotel.” given by Mary Alexandra.

Look out for details of next years summer social on the calendar for 2012 (coming soon!).
